Phoenix Charter Academy provides rigorous and individualized education at three alternative high schools across Massachusetts.

Many of our students arrive at Phoenix after being told, explicitly or implicitly, that they won’t graduate.

They have often experienced interruptions in their education, struggled to find success in traditional school settings, or faced barriers outside the classroom that made staying on track difficult.

Phoenix was built for students who need something different. Through flexible scheduling, individualized learning, intensive supports, and a culture grounded in respect and belonging, we help young people reconnect with their education and rediscover what is possible for their future. Some of our most important outcomes can’t be measured by a chart or graph. They happen when a student decides to show up again, earn that next credit, apply to college, or begin believing in themselves.

But a high school diploma is not enough.

That’s why every student at Phoenix must complete multiple early college or certificate granting career training courses before graduating. Our students leave not just with a diploma, but with a head start: college credits, industry-recognized credentials, and the confidence to accelerate into college, careers, and economic opportunity.

Phoenix self-paced learning model taught me how to take responsibility for my work, manage my time, and stay on top of deadlines, all skills that have helped me succeed in college. What stands out most about Phoenix is the support I received from staff. During a time when I felt overwhelmed and uncertain about my future, they took the time to listen, encourage me, and help me build confidence in myself. Those conversations and relationships made a lasting impact and showed me that I had people who believed in my potential.
