Ms. A-T graduated from the University of Connecticut, earning her Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She then went on to join Teach For America and moved to Philadelphia, where she taught English at John Bartram High School, located in Southwest Philadelphia. While there, she was able to co-create and supervise the Summer Bridge Program for incoming freshmen, which was funded by a multi-million dollar grant from the Department of Labor. Also during her time at Bartram, she earned a Masters of Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Principal Certification from Cabrini College, was a principal intern for the Ninth Grade Academy, and was the lead teacher in the Tenth Grade Academy.

After five years at Bartram, she worked for three years at both public and charter schools in North Philadelphia. She was able to increase her instructional knowlege and grow her 21st Century learning skills. Jackie transitioned to Wilmington, Delaware in 2015 as a Principal Fellow for the Delaware Leadership Project (DLP). At DLP, she had the opportunity to work as a school leader. Further, she was able to coach, visit excellent schools, and reflect on her authentic leadership in order to become a better administrator.
