Foundation Board

The Phoenix Network Foundation Board is responsible for managing all of Phoenix’s assets, to ensure our financial stability and sustainability. In addition to meeting three times a year, the Foundation Board reviews our annual audit.

  • James Stanzler

    President

    Highfields Capital Management LP

    Mr. Stanzler joined Highfields Capital in 2010. He manages portfolio investments in the media, telecommunication, and technology sectors globally. Prior to joining Highfields, Mr. Stanzler was a senior research analyst at Loch Capital Management, and before that he was a Director of Planning & Analysis at NTL Incorporated in London, England. Mr. Stanzler has also worked at Smith Barney in New York and held research positions at CIBC WM and Robertson Stephens in both New York and London. Mr. Stanzler is currently President of the Foundation Board of Phoenix Charter Academy and graduated with a B.A. in English and American Literature from Brown University.

  • Lauren Baker

    Lauren Baker currently serves as the First Lady of Massachusetts alongside her husband, Governor Charlie Baker. As First Lady, Lauren works to improve the lives of the children of Massachusetts, focusing in particular on the children served by our Department of Children and Families.

    Lauren is a veteran of the advertising world in both New York and Boston where she led and managed the development of brand campaigns for consumer products, technology companies and non-profit organizations. Today, Lauren works as a marketing communications consultant, building brand strategies for independent schools with The Baker Group. Her continued passion for service and social responsibility is evident through her current work to increase awareness and raise funds for a number of causes. Lauren actively serves on the Regional Board of Directors for American Red Cross of Massachusetts and is a founding member of the Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders. She served for several years on the Board of Trustees and as a volunteer at Marian Court College, a small, private college that catered to first generation students from low-income families. Lauren holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

  • Paul M. Stelzer

    President, Appleton Corporation - An O’Connell Company Division

    Paul Stelzer oversees all functions of Appleton Corporation, and is responsible for the successful management and strategic direction of the company. Mr. Stelzer’s almost 40 years of industry experience includes the financing, acquisition, development and management of commercial, multi-family, retail, and special use properties for both The O’Connell Properties portfolio and other property owners across New England. Mr. Stelzer directs a staff of 130 employees and the company is currently responsible for two million square feet of real estate assets, which includes the Springfield Technology Park.
